Food Waste: From Farm to Fork

EPCAS Summer General Assembly in Copenhagen
From 31 July until 2 August, Thomas Kascha will attend the European Party Caterer Association General Summer Assembly. Since the beginning of this month SD Trading is a proud member of EPCAS.
During these days Thomas will be attending several sessions. One of the issues he will be discussing is “Food Waste”. The issue of Food Waste is a political hot topic that needs to be addressed. Currently ‘from farm to fork’, between 40 to 50% of the entire food production is thrown away. Therefore EPCAS has decided to cover this topic as a sub-theme during the Summer General Assembly in Copenhagen.
Food Waste
As mentioned the sub-theme of the General Assembly is “Food Waste“. There will be some speakers who will present this issue from different perspectives. Food Waste is a political hot topic, as various advancements are being undertaken to reduce the amount of food wasted around the world. “All the world’s nearly one billion hungry people could be lifted out of malnourishment on less than a quarter of the food that is wasted in the US, UK and Europe.” – Tristam Stuart, author of exceptional book ‘WASTE’.
